The Music

“L’Esprit Du Monde – Music for a Global Village”

The music for this album was written over the period of a year, which for me, saw disappointments, struggles and triumph.  These times cannot help but inspire change in ourselves, which was in turn reflected in the music I wrote during this time.    

I’d always thought of myself as a world music composer and producer, and stayed within this genre, for that was my comfort zone.  But the last year saw something else inside me started to grow, to challenge myself to learn to play a new instrument, to reach stylistically for that which was beyond my grasp, but forever within my desire to do.

So here you will find Spanish guitar, power electric guitar, solo voice, choir, and voices from around the world.   You will find beats to soothe, and beats to drive and inspire.  You will hear symphonic electronica as well as flutes, brass orchestra, cellos, and violins. I’d really like to think there’s something here for everyone…..

I feel inspired by a world that was brought ever closer together on my own doorstep, very recently in Vancouver, BC.  So I feel it is fitting to dedicate this album to the Global Village, for it is our differences which inspire, and our similarities that draw us to each others’ arms in times of sorrow, and loss.

And it is dedicated to musicians all over the world who are still seeking, and making their own path toward their unique artistic expression.
